Subj : Netmail Zonegate how? To : All From : Douglas Connor Date : Sun Nov 23 2003 08:00 pm Hello All! === Cut from bofaq.txt === Q14 ======================================================================= What does the Backbone expect of nodes who operate as "Gateways"? Gateways must remove foreign distribution identifiers (including seen-bys) which might adversely affect the distribution of the echo on the Backbone. Pathlines, however, should be left intact. The origin line should be that of the Gateway. Gateways also pass netmail into the other network, unless it is technically impossible to do so. === Cut === What is the procedure for a netmail gate? I have been entrusted with 63:63/1 and all netmail for the zone is routed from here. I doubt very much any fidonet system would know where to send a netmail for this zone(63). Seems it might need to be a 5d address too? Douglas --- GoldED+/W32 1.1.4.7 * Origin: ----> Vested Tyme <---- (1:132/500) .
