please define "the FTN format"... are SQUish, Hudson, JAM, EZYcom, wildcat, 
PCBoard message bases "the FTN format"? or is the PKT the only real FTN format? 
remember, PKTs are how we transfer the messages from one system/server to 
another... the others are local message base storage formats... several were 
"invented" outside of fidonet...
