The issue is ended.

They were of the opinion that Bobby represented himself as a member. That is 
why they were looking at legal response.  The normal tactic  is to sting them 
for trademark abuse, which it would be.  Many folks  do missrepresent 
themselves as members, and even I must admit the  reaction was a bit 
'knee-jerk', on BOTH sides.  They do not  know/remember Fido, there are so few 
of us left active in the  legislative arean, so a bit of refereeing had to be 
done.

The situation has been cooled, on both ends, and all is well.

Next time, please research the echos before you touch them. And if an echo has 
no traffic, and is not on the echolist, then  by all means alert the backbone 
to delete, but don't take it upon  yourself to relist.  If you need help doing 
such research, then come to  http://www.fidonet-on-the-internet.org, the search 
engine on the  echolist archives would serve you well.

Your arguements are my own.  
USIIA was formally the AOP, which I am sure you remember.   Yes, that 
non-lobbist group that the congress uses for information  about the online 
communities.

I hope Bobby now realizes and understands what has happerned and why  such 
research is needed.  I admit he does a service to clear the  dross, but it went 
a bit too far.  I hope he takes my suggestion  to use the search engine in the 
future.

I have ignored some posts on this, as they were obviously intended to  inflame 
or counter me trying to help another fidonetter.  I suggest that  some of the 
folks here who posted such think about what the hobby is  all about.
