The trademark violation was that Bobby is not a member, and used the associations full trademarked name on the echolist entry. Unauthorized use of a trademark is NOT a grey area, even for non-commercial or hobbiest. > It serves Bobby right, picking up all those dead echos just to drop them > later. I am still waiting for the message back from them if they will accept Bobbys good faith actions. I have done all I can. Bobby really 'stepped on it' this time. He is supposed to do research on every echo he salvages to contact the moderator. He knows me, and the ways to contact me. He just grabbed. Another point a lot of folks have missed is that USIIA was intended to be carried only from the Southern Star. John S was USIIA. The very fact it was carried on this backbone shows even more faults with the system. It was pulled from its backbone, and a couple of months later then delisted. The other backbones never had permission to carry it. Personally, I did not care, but technicially, it was wrong for it to have ever been on this backbone. To this day, I really don't know what set the USIIA off, all I know is that somebody or bodies lost a great resource for fidonet that was being provided free.
