Subj : Newsgroups? To : BOB SEABORN From : Paul Williams Date : Sun Jul 29 2001 07:04 pm As Mark Lewis was wandering around looking for Bob Seaborn, his walkman started playing "Newsgroups?" by The Volehunters >>i guess i'm under the impression that the discussion was based around >>being in one's home... not having to go to the office or to the library >>or cybercafe or some such... BS> Yet these are viable choices. BZZZT! Sorry, you lose. I don't have an office to go to since I'm disabled. The library ain't wired. And the nearest 'cafe is at the very *least* some 30mi away in San Antonio provided one even exists in S.A. in which case Austin is next at 100mi or so. Double that if you want to go back home at some point. Now, would you like some ketchup to go w/ the shoe leather? Mustard? Mayo? Salt? Pepper? Tobasco? Pico de Gaio? Salsa? Guacamole? Fwiw, I will also point out that services such as junoweb, netzero, and the like require the use of a wintel box running at the least whendoes 95. Those services that don't require such, require that you sign up via the net. Wait a minute? How can you sign up for the net when you don't have net access??? Catch-22 anyone? I know people who are still using radio shack trs-80's and see no reason why they should blow $$$ on a box that take longer to boot than theirs does to boot and load a program. OfC if you'll netmail me your bank acct number, I'm sure these people (and myself) won't have any objections to you paying for our new systems. After all, you're making them big bucks and saving tons of $$$ by having that T1 your so proud of instead of getting w/ the times and using a OC-192 or better. -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- (and here toody you thought i didn't have it in me. ) .... So we still have not a clue as to where to send the assassins. - GarryS The preceding nonsense was brought to you courtesy of SHMNSINN BBS at 0107.30:1:31 -- SPEED 2.01 [NR]: --- EzyQwk V2.00b006 00F90199 * Origin: The Shaman's Inn - Quartzsite, Az (1:114/635) .
