The echo will be officially listed in the July 29 issue of BACKBONE.NA, but 
some NAB hubs may have it active already.

      If you didn't see the acknowledgement message, possibly you don't have
as stable a feed as you should have.  Also one requirement of the NAB is that a 
moderator arrange a connection to the NAB.  If that is via some other 
distribution system that doesn't transport the echo, you haven't qualified.

      Like I told you, it's NOT you and your echo specifically, it's the whole
concept of gating newsgroups.  You just arrived at the wrong time.
