DOS apps can access the COM port without a FOSSIL.  I'm typing
this connected with Telix 3.22 for DOS on a Win2000 machine.  No
FOSSIL.

But I will admit having no luck with a FOSSIL under Win2000.  I've
tried to get a node on my BBS to recognize the virtual COM port
that NetModem creates.  No luck.

I have had problems with DOS apps and COM ports under NT.  It was
always an IRQ or address conflict.  Is everything OK there?  Have
you tried running with the normal COM routines instead of a FOSSIL?
