Subj : Remote Dial-In Networking To : Mike Powell From : Jerry Schwartz Date : Sun Apr 10 2005 07:31 pm Hello, Mike... The system you are dialing in on certainly doesn't need to be running the same OS, if you are using Arachne or some other web-based client. What you'd need in that case is a web server running at home and some kind of dial-up TCP/IP service at each end. Depending on what you really need, your easiest way of doing something like this would be with PC/Anywhere or some such to the Windows machine. If your requirement is really to use a DOS-based machine as the dial-in client, that won't work. Are you doing this as an excercise of some sort? I would think that for very few dollars you could get a machine capable of running Win98, at least, to use as a remote system.
