Thanks. I was sure (?) that there was a switch to run 'setup' which
left all setting intact.
Had a look on M$'s site for 'switches', found a lot but nothing
relevant.

My explorer wouldn't respond at times. Defrag found some lost file
framents and CheckDisk seems to have it fixed. I'll wait and see how
it behaves.
