The best part is, anyone with the proper equipment can join that network as long as they allow everyone to use it too. HC> I Am sure tom Walker would be interested in this information. That would depend on where he lives. So far only the downtown area, including Golden Hills (old part of SD) is capable of accessing freenet. >> The computer literate in San Diego don't buy systems, HC> No?, >> they build them from all those availble parts. HC> But surely they could be called the Computer Technically Abled?. I don't know how technically able one has to be. My first PC was a 286-12 and I paid over $1800 for it. When I got it home, I opened it up and was amazed at how little there was to it. So, I've never bought an assembled PC until lately. The author of 'Lindows' (Linux with windows) has placed a nice computer with a local franchise for less than $200, including everything but a monitor. IMO, the OS sucks, but the computer was worth the money. --- Twit(t)-Filter Tossed v2.3 (2000) * Origin: Flying \A/ Ranch, Santa Ysabel, CA (1:10/22) .
