256Meg should be a tolerable transfer for USB-1. The actual speed will
depend on the Flash Memory used. Some flash memory is faster then
others.

 Perhaps I am more toollerned after some 20 Years fo "Hury UP and Wait"
in the Military. So I agree with yuo taht what you are describing is
tollerable. Now if one is burning quite frequently it can become a
problem. I rembember one time formatting 25 CDRW's on a 2X burner. 
That was a Real pain.
