Generally the 'riser' requires one slot therefore it has at
least 3 slots on it (the riser). There would be three (or more)
cables "run from there".

The 'problem' would be a tangled mass of cables but I don't
need a riser to add slots to my machine, I've not used what is
already available. :-)
