The OS 'sees' the commport regardless what is connected to that
commport. :-)

I don't take anything on faith where electronics is concerned
and IMHO there are more liars and thieves involved in computer
hardware sales than all other forms of electronics combined (if
you don't count government military contractors and NASA). :-)
