Subj : back in business To : Bj”rn Forsstr”m From : Tom Walker Date : Tue Dec 28 2004 08:25 am -> CA> All the externals I've found lately (new) are USB 2.0 and I have only USB -> CA> 1.0 (naturally). I'm really annoyed by the preoccupation to connect -> CA> everything to a USB 2.0 port. -> Is it really necessary to have USB 2.0? -> Isn't 1.0 enough? I suspectr it is. And looking at soem Specifications o nhte internet for USB modems I saw NO call aspeificly for a USB-2 port. Adn soince the USB specificatoins requires Backward Compatability and HONEST manfacturer woulkd only sell Backward Compatable Devices. OF course there are some severe limitations when running some Devices, Particaulrly Hard Drives and CD Burners. I an personnaly testify that it seems like it takes Forever to transfer several gigs of data from my USB hard drive to a Computer when connected to a USB-1 port as comparired to when it is connected to a USB-2 port. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) .
