You are trying to install an operating system on -> IDE 1 Slave. You've got no chance of installing any system unless -> it has direct access to the MBR. If it is jumpered slave and if your -> bios will handle it then slave it to IDE 0. Unplug the master drive -> and see if it can boot the slave. If you can't do that then it's -> a tweezer job. Jump the disk master and plug the end of the IDE 0 -> riben into your new disk. Unplug all the other disks except the cdrom. -> You have zero chance of installing an operating system on /dev/hde /dev/hde is the ONLY drive in the machine and jumpered master. It is seen as third primary channel due to the fact I need to enable IDE channel zero and 1 on motherboard I/O to access the CD-ROM. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
