That's true.  Add to that, if the ISP should go off the air for whatever 
reason you've also lost your phone service.  That's where cell phone 
service takes over.

The longest power outage I've experienced was when I lived in Florida.  
Out for a week after the passage of a hurricane.  Here in Texas most 
power outages are short lived, several hours usually.
