True, but it can also be used for one phone line by using 2 wires (red
and green) as well. My surprise was that both types (2 and 4 wired) were
existent and I didn't know bout it. Just goes to show that I don't know
everything - actually not even doodly squat!

Red and green are the two most commonly used wires for a single phone
line.
