 SBC has teamed with DISH Network, and I suspect that they are planning
 to go satellite eventually.  Before the FTC killed the merger of
 Echostar with Direct TV, their plan was to offer satellite internet
 service with complete national coverage.

 Last I talked with DISH tech people, their satellite modem (both
 upload and download) is still in the testing phase.
