Subj : Dead Phone LIne. To : Jay Emrie From : Tom Walker Date : Sun Nov 28 2004 08:04 am -> In order to check for an open, one would have to short the R and G wires -> at the most remote phone outlet and then check for continuity at the -> first phone outlet. Hmmm??? I wonder just which one in my house IS the -> most remote? The way the house is laid out it would be just a wild -> guess. -> There really isn't any easy way to check for an open. Yes there is. Just put a "Tone Generator" on at the point of entry into the house, disconnecting the line coming in from outside. And go around to all outlets and check for the tone. IF there is a open wire somewhare a possable solution is to procure some of those adapters that use the House Electrical Wiring to distribute the Telephone service. Instal one at the point of entry to the house and one in each room you want phone service. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) .
