 I think at some point you have to resign yourself to the idea that you
 don't have infinite control over what's going on, and that if you have
 the system setup with adequate precautions in place, then the activity
 is BENIGN.  If you're going to be unable to sleep worrying about it,
 then you should probably wipe the drive and do a restore from backup.

 That's one of the reasons you do the backup, anyway. ;-)
