A few years back, 10 or so, I converted all our Super 8 family movies
(going back to the early 50s) to VHS and disposed of all the reels of
movies. A couple years ago I was in the process of getting the necessary
equipment to convert the VHS to CDs or DVDs. Before I had made the 2nd
item purchase my house was broken into (in 2002) and the idiot thief
stole ALL of our VHS tapes - lots of National Geographic VHS tapes and
including all our family VHS tapes! I imagine when he found out what he
had he put the family stuff in the garbage. I never had a digital video
camera. I was lucky enough to have access to a commercial super 8 movie
to VHS converter.
