You haven't given enough information about your setup to give a definitive answer, but: If your wireless laptop is connecting to a wireless router (not simply an access point) that also has (wired) Ethernet inputs AND your desktop is connected to that router, it's not a problem sharing the printer-- and sharing files between the two systems. In that case, it's no different from printer sharing on a wired network. (See the networking tutorial on my website). ....
