Windows has caused (nearly singlehandedly) the home computing world to go from smart people using dumb terminals to dumb people using smart terminals... if you've ever worked tech support like I have, you know it's true. As for doing "anything", I strongly disagree. I am running Windows now only because I make money with it... and that's why I run it-you can really only make a living supporting Windows. Sure, I could find a job in the banking industry supporting my favorite OS (OS/2), but I'd have to move to the Northeast to do so... I like the Atlanta area just fine. If developers weren't out for the big buck, we would see a much more level playing field. Unfortunately for those of us in the minority that know there's options out there, we're mostly left to our own devices!
