Subj : WALLPAPER. To : Howie Coombe From : Tom Walker Date : Tue Nov 09 2004 07:28 am -> Why not?. -> > It is a waste of computer recources and one Never really looks at then when -> > working anyhow. -> Aha, and what about when one is not working?, why do Wallpapers exist indeed -> why do Microsoft include them in there packages if they are a waste?. Because in the US we have a FREE country(At least in Theory) and one has Choices. IF you like the "Eye Candy" you can use it. BUT if you want a lean and Mean fast machine forget it. -> > At one time I had every square on my screen filled with Icons. -> Silly. But convient and quick when one does a lot of opening and closing programs. -> > You can tell how much it slows the system when it has to refresh the -> > screen. -> Actually i used to have the same problem. Than just think of Wallpaper like one Very big Icon it needs to be Refreshed continiously on the screen just like all the Icons do. Of course the operation is faster becasue in the case of the Icons the computer has to look in various places for the Icon to refresh the screen. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) .
