Subj : Broadband. To : Ed Vance From : George Vandervort Date : Sun Oct 09 2005 07:59 am Hello Ed! Good morning to you Ed.. I've had time to contemplate a more proper responce to your delima? I can understand not wanting to pay $30 or $40 US a month for Cable TV. when you have access to the Local annalog Over the air broadcast with Rabit ears, or a cheap Radio Shack Color TV antena.. I'm paying Time Warner $104.00 per month for HDTV Digital and Full Bandwidth RoadRunner Cable Modem service. However, your Quot below deserved a better responce.. EV> I know there are a lot of good programs in the cable service too, but EV> I don't want to help them maintain their gear that handles the bad EV> along with the good stuff. EV> EV> Just my humble opinion. ;-) I don't like the "Bad Content" on Cable TV, so to avoid access to the "Bad Content" I refuse to support I'll do everything I can to aviod it.. Even though the US Congress has passes a Law that will Eventually REMOVE Analog TV Broadcast over the air reqiring all local TV Stations to eventually broadcast in Didgital ONLY by 2007.. making your Analog TV useless unless you have a Didgital to Analoge Converter box that Cable Companies provide. Hmmm... So lets see what I can do to lessen my exposure to Bad Content? I'll sale my Car, because "the Automotive Industry" are the Major advertisers on many of the Bad Content TV programs, I'll just walk every where I need to go, because the Cheese eating "Surrender Monkey" French people "Tour De France" are a major sponsor of Bike Riding, that the French culture incorages "La More" Free Love and "al'naturale" Nudity, so I'll not buy a bike to I don't want to help the Auto industry and French people maintain their life style, so I'll walk every where I go.. I'll just stay home wand watch the four walls and Smell the Roses.. I can't walk to the Grocery store.. Because They (the Grocery Stores) have lots of Bad Content Magazine at every Checkout counter.. So If You Buy any food at the Grocery Stores that display all those Bad Content Magazines, I'll be be maintaining the Grocery Stores abibilty to stay in business and thus be able to sale all that Bad Content Magazines.. So I'll avoid all Grocery Stores and all walmarts Stores too.. I can't read the News papers either, they contain a lot of of Advertising for Bad Content also, especially the Sunday paper.. I've carried this argument to an Extreme, But maybe you see what I mean.. Life is to short to sweat the Small stuff.. if you got Cable, most TV's and Cable Converter Boxes provide Parental Control options that let you BLOCK OUT Most of the Chanels that have objectional content, and even the ability to "Block out" Time of Day broadcast so that certain programs can't be viewed.. "There is more than one way to Skin a Cat" Have a Nice Day... Friday October 07 2005 19:46, ED VANCE wrote to CHARLES ANGELICH: CA>> Even many working poor cannot afford broadband as it is.
