I've been having a similar problem (not that I'm trying to connect to Doc's Place) and I'm curious about the HOSTS file. What is the optimum size for the HOSTS file? Or does it really matter how many sites are listed? I ran Spybot - Search & Destroy and I let it add their "restricted" web sites to my HOSTS file. It seems like the connections have slowed down considerably and sometimes they even time out... Would a "_FAT_" HOSTS file be a factor? Cheers ...
