It uses an xD media card. He has a multi-card read in his JL>computer. Could he just remove the card from the camera and put it in the ca JL>reader? I assume the software is for connecting the camera via USB. He doesn JL>want to install the software if he does not have to. He likes to keep his ha JL>as clean as possible, He is not one to install a bunch of software. He has JL>taken test pictures and insert the xD card in the reader and it seems to wor JL>He iis worried about damaging the system, reader, card, or camera though. That is the perfered method for some. Particualrly for those with Multipule cameras. The only caution I recall is to NEVER format the xD medial Card in the Computer. ALWAYS do it, if necessary, in the Camera. Don't recall exacticaly why biut when I read that recomendation it made sense. I can see NO way of damaging anythiong by moving the xD card arround. After al lit is Designed to work that way. The camera Cradles, or using the USB cable, with the required software could hace an advantage but I am unaware of it. JL>He says this is his first digital camera. He not used the muti-card reader in his computer before either. With WinMe and later it is just like using a Floppy. Almost Fool Proof. IF he checks i nMy Computer the Card reader should be showning up already. At least under WinXP my Never used Card Reader shows up as 4 different Removable Media Drives. I have a 6 in 1 Card Reader and two of the 4 slots do double duty. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
