Subj : Doc's Place To : CHARLES ANGELICH From : TOM WALKER Date : Wed Oct 05 2005 10:38 am CA>Doc's is sometimes offline for a half hour to an hour (I'm CA>guessing that is for maintenance purposes) but I haven't CA>noticed it being offline more lately than it has been at any CA>other time. CA>The obvious advantage to using either Doc's or Juge is that you CA>are up/downloading to the same BBS most other echo participants CA>are using and can therefore avoid the 'fido lag' of BBS further CA>down 'the pipe'. That is why I like Doc's. My former dial Up source here in the San Diego Area had SERIOUS "Fido Lag". I even found serious Lag i nmy secondary source up in Santa Barbara area ,telnet of course. So the Lag is/was a Southern California Problem in the FIDO distribution. I hung on for about Two years before finaly giging up .I of cournse being a former LIVE poster had to adapyt to an offline reader as live reading on the internet is a HORRABLE experience on a dial up line. Somethiong that I found HARD to do. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
