The manual says that he must install the JL>camera software. It uses an xD media card. He has a multi-card read in his JL>computer. Could he just remove the card from the camera and put it in the card JL>reader? I assume the software is for connecting the camera via USB. He doesn't JL>want to install the software if he does not have to. He likes to keep his hard JL>as clean as possible, He is not one to install a bunch of software. He has JL>taken test pictures and insert the xD card in the reader and it seems to work. JL>He iis worried about damaging the system, reader, card, or camera though. JL>He says this is his first digital camera. He not used the muti-card reader is JL>his computer before either. I do not know about ALL digital cameras, but those I have had experience with do NOT require one to use the camera's software. They all can download the memory card to the computer via a multi-card reader as far as I know. Essentially the memory card is just a mini storage unit - like a floppy, USB "thumb drive" - etc. Jay --- þ OLXWin 1.00a þ If they learned from mistakes, They'd be geniuses! * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
