I initially copied the disk from my Xandros's CD drive to my external HD connected to the laptop by Firewire, as previous attempts to copy using Windows had failed. With the laptop still connected to the external drive via Firewire, I attempted the build from an XP desktop connected to a SMC Barricade router via Realtek 10/100 NIC. The laptop was also connected to the router via Netgear FA411 10/100 cardbus. The source was the Xandros share on the external hard drive. This progressed, but eventually stalled. I then connected the external hard drive directly to the XP desktop by USB 2.0 and proceeded to success. It was apparent watching the build screen, that the build was going much faster with the second setup. This led me to infer that perhaps the first setup was too slow. Regards, Robert Fowler ...
