I have found a company in Salem, MA that has an original copy of my book
-same as mine for $93.00 for hard bound. They also will sell a soft
bound copy for the same price. I ordered the soft bound. If it will not
lay flat enough toe flat bed scan it I can always "unbind" in and scan
it that way and have a local book company rebind it. Looks like the
problem may be solved - FINGERS CROSSED!

I have had the same results with both of my programs. Amazing! I only
worry about the possibility that the font used in my book may not be
readily recognized by the 115 year old later programs.

No worry about that. They are recharged when connected to a USB port for
downloading the images.
