Subj : Win XP :-( To : JEAN PARROT From : TOM WALKER Date : Wed Sep 28 2005 09:49 am JP> TW> I am used to getting that advice from those types. It just goes JP> TW> straight through and I do NOT pay any attention. JP> But Tom, it might be required. It will take two hours out of JP> your day but will solve amny problems. Everybody who have loaded XP JP> can use both write pads. I do and I am no wiz. JP> I redid a system again yesterday, the HD had mechanically JP> crashed, on a Dell, with an OEM CD and XP Pro loaded smoothly and all JP> apps are there. I did on purpose look at and used Wordpad and JP> Notepad. The problem was in opening the case to extract and instal JP> the new HD. Dell ran out of 80 g HDs so they sent a 160 g one. IF I was working with a "Pre-Installed" version like you I "may" have done4 it but I have to FIGHT the Re-Activatio nthing. Somethiong that I will NOT DO. I have learned a Valuable Lesson and Reinforcem my view that WinXP is a PIECE OF CRAP and I am looking at other options .Unfortunatly I cannot afford a MAC and LINUX is above my at me present stage of Brain Deterration for my past less then briliant moves while in the US Navy. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
