Like I said, Adobe opened up the PDF spec, making it easier (and legal) for everybody and their cat to develop programs that created and worked with PDF files. PDF is a variation on Postscript; so the free CutePDF (which I use) works with the open source GhostScript Postscript interpreter. ....
