        I have used two of them before this Sprint and this one showed
  them off. In a page, an average of two errors.

        Nice item. Worry about batteries then. The scanner is not the
  problem in this endeavour, the OCR will be unless you plan on
  keeping all pages in image format. Mind you, a scanner with a high
  resolution is the first step.
