        I went there as you suggested and at the very bottom, I could
  see the TZ=EST5EDT.

        It did not help as others here, Alan and Jeff, had showed me
  where to set this up in autoexec.nt, not the .bat one in XP. They
  beat you to it, that is all. Same kind help being offered. Thanks.
