Subj : Copying my family his To : JEAN PARROT From : JAY EMRIE Date : Mon Sep 26 2005 02:40 pm JP> Hello Jay, we were saying ! JP> AZ> If so, I'd recommend photocopying each page, then scanning the photocopies. JP> AZ>Then, perhaps save the scans as a series of sequentially-numbered PDF files. JP> JE> Considering 600+ pages, if I can can't do it any other way it probably JP> JE> - possible would be less expensive to buy one that going to a copy JP> JE> place like Kinkos. JP> Still, considering the source of that advice, if at all JP> possible, you do not want to work on every page twice. You will have JP> your work cut out for you just trying to keep all pages sequentially JP> printed or saved to some medium. I am sure that one CD would do . JP> When you get to the end, or near, consider merging all in one JP> "book". Word will do it and also Acrobat.pdf. My Genealogie was in 6 JP> or 7 bunches, representing more frenzied periods, I merged them all JP> in one document in Acrobat. I am going to pay a visit to the Genealogy Society here in San Antonio and see if they know how the professional handle this operation. My 1st cousin (one of only two I have) was involved with them a while back and she made that suggestion. Side note: I had only 3 aunts - no uncles on my Dad's side - one aunt had a daughter and another aunt had a son that I have seen only a very few times in my life - the last time about 25 years ago, and only an uncle and aunt on my mother's side - both childless. I have 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls, and my brother had 2 boys - so things are looking up a bit for the Emrie name. Jay --- þ OLXWin 1.00a þ I clean house every other day.
