Acronis has been promising for some time they would provide a way to use DVD media directly same as with CD media. So far they have not fulfilled that promise. Since I backup to an external hard drive, I completely forgot about that. Reason I upgraded to version 9 is for the selective image backup. Our "My Documents" folder at the church is well over 1 gb. Rather than image the entire hard drive which contains mostly programs, it's a lot easier to just make an image of the "My Documents" folder and save it to an external hard drive. As for using Nero to backup to image, it creates very large files and is too slow. True Image is fast and has varying levels of compression.
