They have CA>> worked with Walmarts in the past to offer an amazingly low CA>> entry level user pricing for both Linspire and hardware to CA>> run it on preinstalled for each user. Linspire maintains a CA>> (for pay) repository of 2000+ software packages arranged CA>> to autoinstall into the Linspire OS _and_ has arrangements CA>> to obtain (for pay) commercial linux applications at a CA>> reduced price. TW> True but Still there are soem Rough Edges. True enough but wouldn't it be also true that there are some rough edges for most (if not all) OS for personal computers? I took 10 years to tweak my W31 to a point that it was stable and useful to me. It took 4 months to stop W2K from crashing (IOMEGA Zip Drive software that had to be edited out of the registry). I expect it would take me as long to get XP to work as I expect it to work. :-) CA>> Preinstalled Linspire is available at CompUSA, Walmarts, CA>> BestBuy, and many other retail outlets: TW> I have been aware of that for sometime. Actualy bac kto the TW> day they were stil lcalling themselves Lindows. My point in mentioning those retail outlets is that Linspire has done a great deal to introduce linux to 'the masses'. More than most others who _also_ intend to profit from selling linux and linux software. Even if we don't personally chose to use Linspire there is no reason to not credit them for what they have done that was right as we fault them for their mistakes. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > <| |> __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ....
