I have had a Logitech Scanman JE> Hand held Model 256 Gray scale scanner here for years - so many, in JE> fact, that it only goes up to Windows 3.1 !!! I thought I would never JE> find it in my messed up - cluttered up storage areas in my garage. JE> Never even opened the box! It doesn't appear to be usable with XP. The JE> Oldest Windows I have is 98SE. I guess that mine is also a vintage device. I have not seen any recently in eBay, I have had this one for 4 years maybe so it would be good on 98, but why not try XP. I would send you the floppies too. JE> This one made vertical scans of a page JE> and then stitched the scans together. The scanner is only 4" wide. Same type here but I used it horizontaly, the scans merged nicely and then I rotated the image to a normal view, it showed no curved surface as if you took a digital picture. JE> Will your scanner work with XP or 98? If so, this would be a rather JE> long term project for me considering well over 900 pages. Could or JE> rather would you do without it for several months? I said in my previous post that it was free to you. At the moment, I am 400 + miles away. I hope that you can wait a week or two. JE> Jay Emrie JE> 9706 Gemini JE> San Antonio, TX 78217-3203 Noted. My pleasure, of course. Again in Kamouraska ! Have a great day ! ___ Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
