JP> Well, here is a way for me to get some even. I have a hand JP> held scanner that I used to do exactly the same thing, Jay. It will JP> scan across the pages and is able to "merge" the sweeps that can JP> then be rotated "vertical". You could then use an OCR to turn the JP> images into .txt or .doc. Kid yourself not, there is tedious work JP> ahead. JP> That scanner is free to you. When ? Any time you find convenient. See below. Jean, your message rang my bells. I have had a Logitech Scanman Hand held Model 256 Gray scale scanner here for years - so many, in fact, that it only goes up to Windows 3.1 !!! I thought I would never find it in my messed up - cluttered up storage areas in my garage. Never even opened the box! It doesn't appear to be usable with XP. The Oldest Windows I have is 98SE. This one made vertical scans of a page and then stitched the scans together. The scanner is only 4" wide. Now why on earth did I keep this thing, unopened, for such a long time??? I guess I am a pack rat at heart. Will your scanner work with XP or 98? If so, this would be a rather long term project for me considering well over 900 pages. Could or rather would you do without it for several months? If so, I would greatly appreciate it. So much so, that I'd be more than willing to dance at your next wedding. :-) Jay Emrie 9706 Gemini San Antonio, TX 78217-3203 --- þ OLXWin 1.00a þ Hard work has never killed anyone, but why take a chance? * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
