        Well, here is a way for me to get some even. I have a hand
  held scanner that I used to do exactly the same thing, Jay. It will
  scan across the pages and is able to "merge" the sweeps that can
  then be rotated "vertical". You could then use an OCR to turn the
  images into .txt or .doc. Kid yourself not, there is tedious work
  ahead.

        That scanner is free to you.  When ?
