Subj : Stars! To : CHARLES SCAGLIONE From : JEAN PARROT Date : Fri Sep 23 2005 09:24 am Hello Charles, we were saying ! CS> What kind of telescope do you have? None at all. Remember my activity in this regard is concerned with navigation. Astro-Nav so I had at one time 5 sextants, now I have one bubble one left. I tote it with me as I can be anywhere and do shots. CS> Remember the Questar line of CS> telescopes back in the 60s and early 70s? That I do, my BiL had one and I used it a little. I found it quite cumbersome to use. It needed a "timed" tripod as the rotation of the Earth at this magnitude was quite noticeable. CS> Don't see too many good astronomy programs around any more but here's CS> a site that at least has freeware: CS> http://freeware.intrastar.net/astronmy.htm I will go have a look. I bet it is like Home Planet. The one that I use most is NavPac and the Nav says it all, designed for sextant work. Again in Kamouraska !
