Subj : Linspire 5.0 To : CHARLES ANGELICH From : TOM WALKER Date : Wed Sep 21 2005 07:38 am CA>Based on a reply I read last night posted to you, it appears CA>that you _did_ ask that CS email you instructions for modifying CA>Linspire to use Debian repositories and not Linspire's. CA>TW>>> WHICH incidently was Directly out of the Linspire FAQ' CA>CA>> This is directly out of the Linspire FAQs as well: CA>CA>> WARNING! -- both apt-get and synaptic can break a Linspire CA>CA>> box since it might overwrite some Linspire specific stuff CA>CA>> with standard Debians which might break some programs CA>CA>> (apt-get works but it's not advised to be used by CA>CA>> Linspire, Inc. staff). CA>TW> I fully understand that. So I have had my Question Answered CA>TW> and I am Happy. CA>Yes and you have received the information to reconfigure CA>Linspire to avoid paying for additional software. You have your CA>"free lunch" to go with your free Linspire OS. Once again. I ASKED a question and it was Answered. And yes I did ask for the Instructions to Underrstrand the answer. And now I know it is posable BUT NOT Advisable. Adn my Copy of Linspire was NOT Free. But that aside it was OFFERED but I choce to but the CD instead of Downloading the "FREE" version. SO what is YOUR Problem in all this. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
