The Time Zone variable has always been a very misunderstood issue. :)) I think that someone has already advised you that the "EST5EDT" _may_ require a "-" before the "5" digit... With the above variable, your Time Zone may place you somewhere in Russia. West (left) of GMT requires a hyphen (minus symbol) before the digit; East (right) of GMT _may_ (optionally) require a plus before the digit. Could you tell me what program requires the TZ variable? I am running two programs (on a MS-DOS v6.22 box) that require Time Zone variables and neither will use the same variable. My GoldED editor requires the following (please remember that my Time Zone is the Mountain TZ): SET TZ=MST7MDT6,M4.1.0/02:00,M10.5.0/02:00 [I know it looks a little confusing, but if you require an explanation, just let me know....] and my FrontDoor mailer program requires: iff %@filedate[C:\4d\4b\D&S_COL.BTM] eq %STD_DATE then %+ :: MST -0700 Mountain Standard Time set TZUTC=-0700 elseiff %@filedate[C:\4d\4b\D&S_COL.BTM] eq %DAY_DATE then %+ :: MDT -0600 Mountain Daylight Saving Time set TZUTC=-0600 endiff (the above is a 4DOS Batch To Memory snippet and the "C:\4d\4b\D&S_COL.BTM" reference is also a 4DOS Batch To Memory file that changes my system clock when the change-over occurs and places a date / time stamp on that file.)
