Subj : Linspire 5.0 To : CHARLES SCAGLIONE From : CHARLES ANGELICH Date : Thu Sep 15 2005 02:50 am 123c77aaa783 win95 Hello Charles - CS>> If anyone is interested, I can show them how to legally CS>> overcome 2 above without using the pay service. Either CS>> send me email or post a question to me in the Linux echo. CA>> When a poor man steals it might be that there is no CA>> justice in the land. When a man who is _not_ poor steals CA>> it is always because there is no justice in the man. CS> I've been very patient with you and have tried to be CS> understanding even when you post nonsense like the above. You aren't in a position to be anything _but_ patient. CS> But I admit my patience is running out. You seem to be the CS> type of person who likes to insult others either purposely CS> or because you don't know any better. I thought the same about your one-upsmanship for awhile then decided you couldn't be that ignorant. I now believe you are just a blowhard. CS> And it's not only here in this echo - I've witnessed that CS> same behavior on your part in every echo that I've seen you CS> post to. There are blowhards in many echos, yes. CS> I suggest you take a look at your Bible and read Proverbs CS> 18:6-7 and learn from it. I read it. It doesn't apply here. CS> For others who may not have understood the original post: Reading the words that you typed into your original post it certainly sounded as though you had found a way to take software from Linspire without paying for it. Now you expand/elaborate and chastise me for not reading your mind? You have made references to copying materials in ways that reads as illegal in the manner that you have described it. Usually I just ignore it because I don't think you receive instruction, you only _give_ instruction. This time it seemed blatant and I thought you could use a nudge. I guess one as grand as you perceive yourself to be doesn't 'nudge' easily eh? CS> Linspire can be purchased by itself or along with the CS> ability to download software from their server. The CS> download service is called CNR. The software downloads CS> offered by the Linspire folks for the most part are open CS> source or free. (Firefox, Abiword, etc.) The download CS> service just makes it easier to obtain that software and CS> install it. (The service is of course optional and does not CS> have to be purchased.) CS> However, since Linspire is a debian distro, debian CS> repositories can be used to download the software just as CS> it is done in other distros of Linux. I won't go into the CS> details of how to do it, because it requires some editing CS> of a file and use of the Linux command line from its CS> Terminal. All this is legal and does not in any way CS> constitute stealing on anyone's part. Indirectly, yes it _is_ stealing. Linspire has been good enough to offer free copies of their OS on a trial basis. You take that and then encourage others to avoid any payment to Linspire for additional software so that Linspire gets NOTHING even though they have employees who 'labour' to produce what you are using. This is how you repay their generosity? How will _they_ feed their families with people like you encouraging others to NOT pay them anything at all? Luke 10:7 - ... for the labourer is worthy of his hire. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > <| |> __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * .... Don't be humble.
