Amen to that.  There are viable alternatives to Windows, however, the
world of business and most local, state, and federal agencies are
Windows only.  As long as MS remains as dominant as they currently
are, they aren't very likely to change and IMO will only get worse.

You're correct.  As soon as system restore is turned off all restore
points are deleted.  You can check that easily enough by taking a peek
inside of the hidden system folder called "system volume information".

That feature by the way, is useful in the event a virus or malware is
stored along with a restore point.
