If he can in fact print from the Win98SE machine with the XPP machine powered off, then the printer is not directly connected to the XPP machine, and is therefore not a locally shared printer. My *guess* is that the printer is connected to a printer port on his router and that he tried to configure W2K for a locally shared printer. Regards, Robert Fowler ....
