 Not if you believe what he wrote above.  If he can in fact print
 from the Win98SE machine with the XPP machine powered off, then
 the printer is not directly connected to the XPP machine, and is
 therefore not a locally shared printer.

 My *guess* is that the printer is connected to a printer port on
 his router and that he tried to configure W2K for a locally shared
 printer.
