 I find PP often dithers pictures... I wonder whether it actually is turning 
them into 256 colour versions. As well, popping a photo into a PP slide results 
in converting the resolution into some random size; size reduction seems to 
work best if the end-product is a simple fraction of the original-- which 
generally isn't the case when you drag an image to fit on a PP slide.
