I never tried Spybot, so I can't answer your question..

However, I use Ad-Aware SE, and Pest Patrol
and found a New one I like the Results from called
CounterSpy version 1.029
Http://www.sunbelt-software.com

it checks your memory, your files, your Registry and your cookies
for Spyware..
