Last night I downloaded the install CD for Ubuntu preview version 5.10. Tried to install it over my copy of MEPIS but it failed at the partitioning stage. Seems it likes un partitioned space or at least unallocated space before it will install. I couldn't even get it to install using the manual method. Good thing I have a very fast DSL connection or I would have been extremely unhappy about the time wasted. Will let you know about Xandros. I'm going to download it this evening and give it a try.
